Monkey King Enma by Imperius-Rex Monkey King Enma by Imperius-Rex
Introducing the Monkey King Enma, one Naruto's lesser known characters. He has appeared briefly during flashbacks and was also summoned during the fight between Hiruzen Sarutobi and Orochimaru. I have found it to be the case that fan art of this character is practically non-existent on this site, so I hope this piece will be a deviation from the norms associated with Naruto fan art.
Enjoy! :)

Will Konohamaru summon him? Or will he sign the Toad Contract like Naruto?

Like the dark feel I get to this. But Honestly the Background is alittle lackluster. Can't really tell whats going on. Other then that, great drawing :D

I don't know if this is the kind of criticism you're after, but well, I'll be frank - the character looks a little too flat - some additional shading to show the actual volume of the character wouldn't hurt. That said, it's amazing you did this with copics - the shadow on the red 'ribbon' for example is very, very nice. I can't work with copics at all, so I'm left with a little awe '^^

Looks great, a bit too dark maybe. The background could help improve the character a little better too. Otherwise, its quite cool.

The guy seems a bit static with that pose against a seemingly moving background. Looks a bit weird that way.

Character detailing is pretty good. But his stance is kind of... off? His hunched shoulders and action with his hands just don't seem natural.
Also, the character and the background don't seem to go together well. Both are very busy with detail, and they are darker color. It makes it a bit harder to see the character.
You might also want to find a way to get rid of that white line around the outside of the character. It would make the background and foreground mix much better as one piece.

I like the coloring, the piece in general is really very neatly done. It's a bit dark, though, and kind of hard to see.

Nice, there's just something visually striking about it. I think if you used a more dynamic pose a lot more life would be added to the piece as a whole.

I'd say it's a pretty big deviation from the norm alright =p.
The character is clear, his outfit is well done and you handled a lot of the details (I especially like the hair) very well.
Now I recognize from the tags that it's done in a traditional medium, but I have to wonder if you didn't play with the levels a bit in a program. Whatever the case may be, the background is a show stealer, and that's not really a good thing. It's very vibrant and while on a more toned downed scale it would have nicely contrasted the character, it overpowers him here.

Overall, well done. It's definitely one of the best pieces of your gallery. Keep at it and keep improving! Don't get comfortable or satisfied, you owe it to yourself to keep getting better and better, don't let anything discourage you!

I may not be a pro in this area but here goes,
visually, its a little confusing as to why the background has a motion blur, but there are no signs of motion in the character.
The characters face lakcs tone, and seems to recede into the picture while the waist ribbon which is a more vibrant red seems to attract the eye, and presumably thats not where you want peoples attention, similar thing with the greens in the top left corner, they are too vibrant for the background.
another thing the texture on the chest and forarms seems a little too deifned.
I've only really mentiond the less good things, but you know its an awesome picture, Honestly I dont really understand the world of fanart, but as a general piece I would have prefered to see the character doing something, or even pondering something or in a setting that tells me something about the character, but again i suppose you dont really have to develop the character in a fan art piece

again all over its verry well done, a very interesting style :) [link]

I like the blurred effect you used on the background, it makes the viewers focus their attention on the foreground. I definitely like the details on the character, however he seems a bit flat, unless that was your intention. His stance looks a bit awkward to me. He doesn't appear to be relaxed or stressed. The hand postures confused me the most, his left hand was relaxed but his right was in a fist.

The colors used are appealing and they work well in the drawing. The shading and details on his sash was nicely done. I believe there was creases and shading on his sleeves, but it's too dark to see.

Overall, it's a good piece. :)

I am not a huge fan of anime or art based on existing work, I am cool with it and some comes out nice but that's just me. Now about this work, my suggestion would be changing or toning a bit the background, what I mean is, lighting it up. The character itself is sort of dark, so the background makes it a bit too dark. Lighting it up would make a nice contrast and wouldn't be so hard on the eye either.
